WiFi buttons from MyStrom can trigger predefined calls in the “echo charlie” environment. This process includes the following steps:
1. integrate the MyStrom Wifi button into the MyStrom app
2. Define call to “echo charlie” and read out webhook
3. Set up automation in the IFTTT app (for a fee)
The Pro version of IFTTT is required to implement webhooks in the IFTTT app.
IMPORTANT: The WiFi buttons of MyStrom only operate on the 2.4GHz WiFi network. Make sure that your router broadcasts this frequency in its own WiFi network (SSID).
Procedure for triggering a call
When the Wifi button is pressed, a command is triggered and sent via your WiFi network and the MyStrom app to IFTTT (If this, then that), which then triggers a call via webhook in your “echo charlie” system.

1. integrate the MyStrom Wifi button into the MyStrom app

Select the “WiFi button” tab(3) ,

If you are connecting the button for the first time, select “Not connected“(4)

Select the model(5)

Select “Configure manually“(6)

Then follow the installation steps in the myStrom app to connect your Button to your WiFi network.
Once you have successfully added the button, it will appear on your MyStrom interface.
2. define call to "echo charlie" and read out webhook
Initiate the call – which you want to trigger by clicking the MyStrom button – in your “echo charlie” message interface. Then click on “more options“. Click on the 3 dots to open a pop-up from which you can copy the webhook:

3. set up automation in the IFTT app
Open the IFTTT website and create a new user account.
In IFTTT it is now defined that if the MyStrom button is pressed once (=trigger), the webhook(call) from section 2 should be triggered. To do this, proceed as follows:
Click on “Create”(1)

At the “If This” part, click on “Add”(2)

Select “Button – Pressed“(5):

You must then link your MyStrom account. To do this, click on “Connect“(6), enter your MyStrom login information in the window and confirm this with “Login”(7):

8: Select your account here if you have multiple accounts
9: The Wifi button has 3 types of triggers: 1x click, 1x long click and double click. For this example we choose 1x click
10: Select your button if you have integrated several buttons.
Confirm the trigger with “Create trigger”

Finally, we define the “Then That” part. To do this, click on “Add”(12)

Select “Make a web request”(15)

Insert the webhook generated in section 2 at “URL“(16) and confirm with “Create action“(17)

Both parts are now defined. Click on “Continue“(18)

And finally on “Finish“(19)

You have now successfully integrated your MyStrom WiFi button into “echo charlie”.
If you want to deactivate the process temporarily, move the “Connected” slider (20) to the left.
If required, you can still activate notifications (21) for each successful and unsuccessful execution of the process.
Executing a call via WiFi buttons in "echo charlie" can take a few seconds depending on the WiFi connection.
