Elgato Stream Decks

Last updated: 24. July, 2025

Stream Decks from elgato can trigger predefined calls in the “echo charlie” environment at the touch of a button. To do this, they are connected to a computer via USB cable. The integration of a deck comprises the following steps:

  1. Connect elgato Stream Deck to PC and install elgato app
  2. Define call to “echo charlie” and read webhook
  3. Save webhook in the elgato app
  4. Design button
Procedure for triggering a call

When a button on the stream deck is pressed, a webhook is sent via the app on the computer, which then triggers a call in the “echo charlie” call system.

1. Connect the elgato Stream Deck to the PC and install the elgato app

Connect the Stream Deck to your computer via USB-C cable. Make sure that the computer is connected to the Internet.

NOTE: The smart decks have an integrated USB-C cable. If you do not have such a connection on your PC, you will need a transition plug (e.g. USB-C to USB-A)

Install and open the latest Stream Deck app from the elgato website on your computer.

The app is structured as follows:

  1. Keys
  2. Settings
  3. Actions
  4. Button settings

Drag the “System/Website” action from the actions onto the desired button. The fields that we need to fill in will then appear in the action settings.

2. trigger call to "echo charlie" and read out webhook

Open the echo charlie web app on your computer and trigger the call – which you want to save on the elgato button – in your “echo charlie” message interface. Then click on the call to open its menu. Click on the 3 dots to open a popup from which you can copy the webhook:

3. save webhook in the elgato app

Return to the elgato Stream Deck app and paste the URL copied from section 2 into the URL field in the action settings. Select “GET request in background” from the drop-down menu below:

If you now press the button on the elgato deck, this triggers the call defined in section 2.

4. design button

You can now let your creativity run wild when designing the button. You can add icons, change fonts and font positions and upload background images or customized images.
